PROJECT NAME:

Implementation of an Automatic Palletizing System through an Industrial Collaborative Robot

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

ICAP LAUNDRY CARE has implemented a robotic palletizing cell based on a collaborative robot, integrated into its detergent capsule packaging line.

The initiative involved the acquisition, integration, programming, and installation of a complete industrial robotics system composed of a 6-axis collaborative robot, palletizing tool, LIDAR sensor system, electrical control cabinet with HMI, and safety enclosures, enabling the full automation of the box palletizing process.

This project forms part of the industrial digital transformation initiatives carried out in the region of Extremadura.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Automate the palletizing process by eliminating manual handling.

  • Reduce occupational risks associated with physical overexertion.

  • Increase production efficiency and cycle stability.

  • Improve the uniformity and quality of pallet stacking patterns.

  • Integrate industrial robotics technologies into the production process.

EXPECTED RESULTS:

  • Full automation of the palletizing process.

  • Elimination of manual palletizing operations.

  • Significant improvement in workplace safety and ergonomics.

  • Increased productivity with stable cycles of up to 6 cycles per minute.

  • Greater operational continuity and reduced end-of-line incidents.

  • Adaptability to different product formats.
